Kupuna Care Pair has recently refreshed its online platform that connects Hawaii seniors and their families with long-term care providers and health care services, according to a June 20 press release.

With more than 150 licensed caregiver listings, the Multiple Listing Services marketplace offers local families a comprehensive site to search for senior care options by price, amenities, and listing type, as well as to view photos and videos for each listing. Users can also contact care providers directly to schedule in-person viewings and post their own "seeking care" listing based on income and location, among other search options.

“I often receive phone calls from families not knowing what to do or how to search for home care for their families,” said Todd Pang, the founder of Kupuna Care Pair, in a statement. “Our community needs help and I wanted to create something that is accessible to everyone and easy to use to eliminate the stress and anxiety that comes with finding the right home for the ones we love.”

Pang has more than 12 years of experience in Hawaii's senior care industry working at his family business Caring Manoa, which was founded by his parents over 20 years ago.

After observing the need among local families for more adequate and accessible information, Pang started Kupuna Care Pair to help bridge the gap between them and long-term care providers.

Pang added, “Smaller care homes represent about 60% of the estimated 12,000 beds available throughout the state. The majority of them don’t know how to get the word out about their availability nor do they have a budget to advertise or build a website, so that’s where Kupuna Care Pair steps in to assist.”

The online resource, which is free to use, also provides exposure and visibility to small care facilities statewide, the release noted.
