Webinar to discuss ‘buying local with food hubs’

The Hawaii Tourism Authority and the Hawaii Food Hub Hui are teaming up to hold an informational webinar on food hubs.

The webinar, titled “Saving Time & Sourcing Local: Buying Local with Food Hubs,” will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday via Zoom. Today, Wednesday, is the deadline for attendees to register.

“Local food buyers will discuss how food hubs work, the benefits of partnership, common pitfalls, and tips for success,” HTA said in a statement.

The panelists are Khalifa Garnaj, executive sous chef at 1 Hotel; Peter Abarcar, executive chef of Mauna Kea Resort; and Dan Robayo, chef de cuisine at Kohanaiki Beach House.
