Hawaii-based startup TurnoverBnB has changed its name to Turno.

The company announced the rebranding earlier this month, citing the desire to simplify its name.

“When we started our company seven years ago, we embraced a very clear mission – to build a reliable, easy-to-use online platform that would help simplify and automate the hassles of managing vacation rental turnovers,” co-founder and CEO Assaf Karmon told PBN.

“We’ve grown a lot in seven years and by simplifying our name from TurnoverBnB to Turno, we’re staying true to our roots while celebrating growth and embracing our next chapter,” he added.

A software-as-a-service platform, Turno connects vacation rental operators to vetted cleaners, while automating recurring functions such as scheduling and payment. Over the years, it has expanded its features to include quality assurance tools like checklists, photo sharing, and inventory management, and its web platform, host app, and cleaner app are now all available in six languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese. Most recently, it also introduced an in-app chat to centralize communications.

As Karmon previously told PBN, he and co-founder Tim Roy initially conceptualized the idea for the platform during an MBA course at the University of Hawaii’s Shidler College of Business. They launched the company in 2016.

“We were born in Hawaii and continue to run operations from our Downtown Honolulu office. But we’re also a global company. Today, we proudly employ team members on three continents, in six countries, and across seven time zones,” Karmon said.  “…We truly offer global reach with our ability to connect short-term rental operators – wherever they happen to be – to cleaning professionals right near their properties.

“Changing our name is both symbolic and practical. Our new name allows us to carry our message of simplification and automation to markets across the world,” he continued. “Not only is it easier to say and easier to type, but in multiple languages, Turno is representative of our core mission – to facilitate vacation rental turnovers and help ensure properties are clean, restocked, and perfectly prepared to welcome their next guest.”
