Bank of Hawaii opened its new Branch of Tomorrow in Waimea on Hawaii Island on Monday.

The new location will have a technology-focused Teller Bar, BankLanai, and Pili Room for private consultations, according to BOH officials.

“With the blend of technology and our knowledge of our community, our customers will have a personalized experience,” Bank of Hawaii Senior Vice President and West Hawaii Market Manager, Hobbs Lowson told PBN.

“They’ll see a new technology focused Teller Bar, as well as a Pili Room for private consultations. Our digital screens highlight businesses, events and activities in the community," he said. "And the digital screens also support our commitment to sustainability and reducing paper. Our Bank Lanai is also accessible 24/7 with enhanced ATM features, such as easy deposit, so customers may deposit checks and/or cash without filling out an envelope or deposit slip.”

The new Waimea location is Bank of Hawaii’s second Branch of Tomorrow on Hawaii Island, the first is located at Safeway Niumalu Marketplace and opened in May 2021, according to BOH. The bank says it plans to open a third branch on the island next month in Hilo.

“This Branch of Tomorrow upgrade reaffirms our commitment to the Waimea community, with whom we share a 60-year history,” Lowson said. “By bringing together the latest technology that banking has to offer, and our Waimea team’s deep ties to the community, we’re able to deliver the best experience in banking.”

The architect is Lively Architects and the contractor is Isemoto Contracting. The new Branch of Tomorrow is located at Parker Ranch Center and serves Waimea, Honokaa, Kohala and Waikoloa and is open six days a week.

The nearby Hamakua and Kamuela branches have closed, and all employees were transferred to the new location, according to BOH.
