Shimabukuro comes to the role with more than 15 years of experience managing real estate properties, construction projects, and business operations for various family-owned businesses. She earned a bachelor's degree in environmental studies from the University of Southern California and is working to complete her executive master of business administration degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
