Business and life coaching company Happiness U launched a new platform this week, the Work Inspired app, aimed at helping employers increase workplace wellness.

An interactive digital resource, Work Inspired features hundreds of articles, videos, and classes that focus on a range of topics from reducing stress and handling burnout to improving communication and dealing with difficult co-workers.

Happiness U founder Alice Inoue said she created Work Inspired as a way to boost employee productivity and engagement, and to help organizations and individuals navigate the added challenges brought on by Covid-19.

The initial idea, Inoue told PBN, was sparked early in the pandemic, as she saw a growing need for Happiness U’s services from both new and existing clients — especially from businesses.

“People were coming [to Happiness U] because they were feeling uninspired, they were feeling anxious. … The anxiety ranged from, ‘am I still going to have my job?’ to ‘am I going to get Covid?’” she recalled. “And then company leaders and HR departments would ask, ‘what do we do?’ ‘How do we be there for our people?’

“I started getting calls from [new] companies. … Companies came out of the woodwork, and I was just seeing the need,” she added.

From there, Inoue crafted online classes to address pandemic-related career concerns — things like working from home and staying focused in challenging times. That’s all included on the platform, along with wide-ranging topics on overall wellbeing — what she described as “full-spectrum insight on life.” New content will be developed weekly based on user feedback, and there’s an option for live online classes.

Inoue, who’s consulted with executives and businesses for more than 15 years, has created all of the content, and she plans to interview other experts for future segments.

Inoue hopes Work Inspired can serve as a one-stop shop.

“I wanted to be able to be there for people more — I want people to have a resource where they can find value at any time,” Inoue said. “It’s really to give people a resource that I curated with information I know is good.”

Work Inspired is accessible via mobile phones, tablets and computers. Subscriptions are available for organizations starting at $4 per employee.

Happiness U will host a series of virtual preview events for the app from July 28 - Aug. 17. Those interested in Work Inspired can email erin@yourhappinessu.com to sign up for one of the sessions.
