Hawaii telehealth company, WePrescribe, recently expanded its health care services to include wellness in addition to its telemedicine offerings, changing its name to CloudWell Health, as a result.

Founders Drs. Neel Chauhan and Cedric Strong first started the venture in late 2019 to make telemedicine options available, accessible and affordable for Isle or visiting patients, with a focus on prescription refills. In March, the physician team rebranded to CloudWell Health to reflect their expanded services, which include online employee wellness programs, health coaching, personalized care and mental health services.

“We started as a pay-as-you-go, urgent care and prescription refill telemedicine service. It was popular and did well, but we wanted to expand from there,” Chauhan said in an interview with Pacific Business News. “The name didn’t encompass all we wanted to do, so now, CloudWell Health more accurately depicts who we are and what services we provide: mental, behavioral, and chronic disease treatment and management, and the launch of overall patient health and wellness. We still do the fee-for-service model, but now accept major insurance providers and waive copay fees.”

Chauhan lauded the business’ attention to detail in the areas of care, quality, wellness and technology, which translates over to its increasing customer-base, including local business partnerships in hospitality and health insurers, among other industries.

“Our focus this year as we’ve grown and entered into new contracts and partnerships, is still on patient and physician well-being, putting more resources behind our vision, and becoming a thought-leader to provide necessary services statewide,” Strong told PBN.

CloudWell Health has also grown its team of clinicians, internists, nurse practitioners and therapists to about 50 staff.
