Orlando analytics firm Net Conversion accelerates plans to double in size

Net Conversion LLC in 2019 moved into a 15,000-square-foot office in downtown Orlando, welcoming its employees, and Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, to a newly-renovated space outfitted with a beer fridge, rentable scooters and a cozy employee lounge. Less than a year later, the office was empty.

Like many businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic, the marketing and data analytics firm shifted to remote work. That was only one way Net Conversions, one of Orlando’s fastest-growing companies from 2017-2019, was disrupted during the pandemic. The firm experienced revenue decline in 2020 for the first time in its history.

However, the business is returning to growth mode, co-founder and managing partner Frank Vertolli told Orlando Business Journal. In fact, the company of 60 employees has a long-term plan to double in size in 10 years, but Vertolli said it could happen as soon as five years.

“We want to get back to that growth goal we had coming out of our record year in 2019. Based on how we started this year and how the phone is ringing, we’re pretty encouraged.”

A big growth opportunity exists in Conversionomics, an automated data aggregation tool developed by Net Conversion to use in its services for clients. The company recently started licensing Conversionomics on its own, and it has landed two clients so far. The goal is to sign up 20 clients for the product this year, Vertolli said.

Meanwhile, the company’s diversification of its client base, which is heavy with travel and tourism clients, with clients in pandemic-proof industries like grocery helped it weather 2020. Plus, Net Conversion snagged a couple of medium and large businesses as clients, Vertolli said. “I call them a Covid large or Covid extra-large, because to be adding a new client of any substance during that time period really helped a lot.”

Net Conversion, which slowly is returning to the office, boasts room for growth. The downtown office can hold roughly 70 people, and Net Conversion has first right of refusal on the space next door. Plus, the business owns another 6,000 square feet elsewhere downtown that may be used for future Net Conversion office space, Vertolli said.

The business recorded 450% revenue growth from 2017-2019, according to Inc. magazine’s 2021 list of the fastest growing companies in Florida. Net Conversion recorded the 20th-fastest revenue growth in the Sunshine State.
