After securing $5 million in a series A investment in 2022, company spokeswoman Lucia Gonzalez told Miami Inno that Biller Genie would look for office space in Orlando. Now, the space has been found.

Since September, 23 of Biller Genie’s 35 staffers have been working out of a 4,000-square-foot office at 7680 Universal Blvd. President and Co-founder Garima Shah said it's a second headquarters. Shah, a Windermere resident, was chosen as one of Orlando Business Journal's 2021 CEOs of the Year.

“The pandemic hit right after we launched, as soon as we started getting traction, so we hired an almost all-remote staff,” said Shah. "When we started collecting ourselves and trying to figure out where we needed to be, we found that the talent in Orlando is so much richer, and we've been able to find great candidates from various technical companies because we've got such a big tech scene here.”

Shah said the company signed a two-year lease and chose the office building in southwest Orlando because it is centrally located and accessible.

“You can get here easily on the turnpike or Interstate 4. Also, it's only 15 minutes away from the airport. That's super helpful because we do have some remote employees who fly in, and we also have a board and investors that fly in,” she said.

Biller Genie is a cloud-based automated billing platform that Shah said gets businesses paid much faster than manual billing.

“In the United States, it takes an average business 57 days to get paid on an invoice. A business using Biller Genie gets paid on average in eight days,” said Shah. “It's just a click of a button — set it and forget it — and all of a sudden, they get paid faster. They get paid on bills they may never have gotten paid before, and they're able to reduce the expenses around the manual labor involved with this.”

Shah believes the company will continue to grow, given that 90% of businesses currently handle payments manually and have a genuine need for a solution, she said.

Because of new partnerships that Shah said the company will announce in Q1 2024, there will be a hiring spate.

“We’ll be filling positions from sales to tech support to subscriber success, marketing, operations and development, so we're going to need more space very quickly. We've already been in talks with the landlord for additional space in the building.”

She is looking to add an additional 3,000 to 4,000 square feet in the new year.
