We live in an increasingly networked world where people reside, work and play in virtual realities that lift us from the present moment and temporarily obscure physical places.

Yet many products and businesses exist in real-life locations and rely on local entrepreneurial ecosystems built with intent by flesh-and-blood people.

Orlando Inno’s The 2023 Fire Awards recognize 16 such innovative companies, organizations and one local government from metro Orlando, Florida's Space Coast and Volusia County. The awards program, now in its second year, highlights local startups and other entities that achieved rapid revenue growth in the last year.

Orlando Inno celebrates the fearless entrepreneurs, disruptors and creators behind these companies, those who have made tangible and lasting impressions, and are solving problems, fueling economies and making life better for the region.

Winners were selected in five categories:

  • Fresh Faces, those in business for less than 5 years
  • On the Come-Up, 5-6 in business
  • Not Just Lucky, 7-8 years in business
  • Established Players, 9-10 years in business
  • Ecosystem Veterans, 11-plus years in business

Honorees were chosen from among nominations and Orlando Inno's editorial team. Each company was scored on major milestones such as revenue growth, job creation, fundraising, innovative new products/ways of doing business, among other factors. The companies with the highest scores in their respective categories were named the 2023 "Blazers."

Read Orlando Business Journal's June 9-15, 2023, weekly edition to learn about what this year's Blazers accomplished in the past year and the big goals they have for the future. And check out more about Orlando Inno's The Fire Awards online.
