Many business last year were unexpectedly thrust in the world of remote work, and nonprofits were no different.

That's why it was critical Kalley Dunn and her team stepped up to implement new tech systems to enable Maitland-based American Fundraising Foundation to continue to operate and raise money. That's important because it helps more than just The American Fundraising Foundation. It aids the other nonprofits that enlist The American Fundraising Foundation to help raise money.

Dunn is one of Orlando Inno's inaugural Inno Under 25 honorees, Central Florida residents who are 25 years old or young and making significant contributions to the region's innovation ecosystem. Here's more:

Briefly explain what your business does: We have been serving other nonprofit organizations for more than 22 years and have donated nearly $40 million to worthy causes. This is done through various avenues such as our education and resource program, unrestricted grant program and signature fundraising travel program.

What are your firm’s greatest accomplishments of the last 12 months? The American Fundraising Foundation was able to expand the number of organizations we support financially, deliver relevant educational programs by teaching organizations how to pivot to a virtual or hybrid event and at the same time launch a secure virtual fundraising platform for qualified nonprofits to use at no cost to their organizations for their annual events.

What specific technologies did you help AmFund adapt in the past year? Working in the nonprofit sector, many organizations can be change-adverse, especially when it comes to technology. I am proud to say that our team successfully implemented processes allowing our 25-plus employees to thrive while working remotely, such as using a secure VPN and increasing the use of Salesforce. Additionally, an entire new department of The American Fundraising Foundation was formed with the addition of our secure fundraising platform technology.

What are your goals for 2022? My goal for 2022 is to form deeper relationships. I enjoy bridge building and connecting the dots for all the individuals and organizations I support, but I really want to delve deeper into learning more about a person’s “Why” and the stories that make us all unique. Connection is vital to our community, especially after the past year.

What’s your go-to drink to power you through the work day? Coffee, coffee and more coffee
