Bryan Frist’s Yoshi Mobility has made a West Coast acquisition.

The tech-enabled mobile car-care company has acquired San Francisco-based Mobile Auto Concepts Inc. (MACi), a mobile automotive services company that specializes in tire care and replacement, preventative maintenance, multipoint inspections and eco-friendly washes.

The company has operations across the West Coast including San Jose, Oakland, Sacramento, Seattle and Los Angeles, according to a press release.

“They're outstanding operators with decades of deep automotive experience," Co-founder and CEO Frist said in the release. “This investment demonstrates our continued commitment to expanding our suite of services to address the real pain points of our fleet and enterprise customers nationwide.”

Founded in 2015, Yoshi's core business works as a car-care subscription service for individuals or companies, which often sign up for the service as a perk for their employees. Yoshi moved its headquarters from Silicon Valley to Nashville at the beginning of 2021. Frist is the son of former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, who is co-founder of Frist Cressey Ventures and a transplant surgeon whose father and brother created what's today HCA Healthcare Inc. (NYSE: HCA).

Since the pandemic, Yoshi Mobility has grown its revenue tenfold and evolved beyond gas delivery to provide a full suite of car care services, including refueling, car washes and preventative maintenance, according to the release.

Yoshi Mobility raised a round of capital last year and has previously received investments from Bridgestone Americas, Kevin Durant, GM, Exxon, Y Combinator and Arab Angel.

As part of the acquisition, Mobile Auto Concepts’ suite of mobile automotive services will be integrated into the Yoshi Mobility’s service offerings and will be rebranded. This includes their eco-conscious car washes and on-site tire services.

"We have big plans in motion for scaling our fleet mobile services, and MACi's expertise and operational coverage will be instrumental in propelling our growth," said Pratik Patel, Yoshi Mobility's head of fleet services, in the release.

Some of Mobile Auto Concept’s most notable customers include Zipcar, UpShift Inc, University of San Francisco, Getaround and the City of San Francisco.

"This company has been my baby since the early '90s," said Wally Ghnaim, the CEO and founder of MACi who will become director of operations for Yoshi, in the release. "I couldn't be more proud of this next step."
