Launch Tennessee, which works to fuel startups statewide, is bringing back its signature conference.

On Tuesday, the state-funded nonprofit announced the return of 3686, which is named for Nashville's geographic coordinates.

The event will be held in Nashville from Sept. 27-29.

Traditionally, the conference has drawn hundreds to more than 1,000 entrepreneurs, investors and others tied into that activity from around the country. Past speakers have included Steve Case, former CEO of AOL; cable news host and Reform Alliance CEO Van Jones; Julia Hartz, co-founder and CEO of Eventbrite; and Scott Kupor, managing partner at heralded Silicon Valley venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz.

This will be the first in-person 3686 conference since the Covid-19 pandemic began. LaunchTN held a virtual version of 3686 in 2020, and canceled the 2021 conference when the Delta variant of Covid ignited a new surge of cases.

Speakers and an agenda will be announced at a later date. Those sessions usually focus on tech, innovation, commercialization and other topics. "Early-bird" tickets are on sale now.
