Nashville's tech community has a new ambassador.

The board of the Greater Nashville Technology Council has hired Elise Cambournac as its new president and CEO. She will succeed Brian Moyer, who is stepping down as the longest-tenured leader of the 22-year-old organization, which has more than 600 members and is the prime representative for the region's fast-growing technology sector.

Cambournac had been assistant vice president of information technology at hospital giant HCA Healthcare Inc. (NYSE: HCA) since 2013.

"All of the ingredients are in place for the Greater Nashville Technology Council to become the preeminent tech council and catalyst for growth for the tech community, guiding Nashville to be one of the nation’s leading centers of technology," Cambournac said in a press release issued Wednesday.

Cambournac started her career as a senior software engineer and director of enterprise solutions for WedMD/Emdeon, now Change Healthcare. She later worked overseas for multiple companies, including Cognizant Technology Solutions (Nasdaq: CTSH). She also was CEO of ITTI Private Ltd., a tech professional services firm in Bangalore, India.

Her debut: Cambournac begins her new job April 18. She will be formally introduced to the tech council's membership at an April 7 event held at the Hilton Nashville Downtown.

Three facts: She's fluent in French; she earned a master's degree in electrical engineering from SUPELEC (Ecole Superieure d’Electricite), located in Paris; she's on the board of the Interfaith Dental Clinic in Nashville.

Other moves: The Tech Council also announced two promotions on Wednesday. Sandi Hoff, who was chief of staff, now serves as chief operating officer. She retains her other role as executive director of the tech council's foundation.

Alex Curtis, formerly vice president of public affairs and communications, has been named chief development officer.
