A real estate company focused on cannabis-related properties has a new top executive.

Robin McVey, the former president of Franklin-based time share cancellation firm Wesley Financial Group, has been named CEO of Credex Corporation (OTC Pink: CRDX), according to a news release.

He replaces Lawrence Taube, who will retain a seat on the company’s board of directors and will work as Credex’s chief financial officer until a new one is hired.

Credex raises funds to purchase, own and manage cannabis-related properties across the country, according to a news release, including dispensaries, extraction facilities and mixed-use properties. The company has offices in Franklin, at 1881 General George Patton Drive, and in West Palm Beach, Florida.

“I am honored to take on the role of CEO and look forward to working with the board and management team to evolve our mission to make a meaningful impact on the CBD industry,” McVey said in the release.

Prior to joining Wesley Financial Group, McVey was an area general manager of ADT Inc.

The move comes as the cannabis industry is booming nationwide, including in Middle Tennessee, with companies such as The Holistic Connection, Anzie Blue and serial Nashville entrepreneur Mark Montgomery’s NuSachi Inc. gaining early traction.
