A San Francisco-based health-tech startup with ties to the Nashville Entrepreneur Center is ready to call Music City home.

DARVIS — which stands for Data Analytic Real-World Visual Intelligence System — will move its headquarters to Nashville, effective June, according to a news release.

DARVIS uses artificial intelligence to automate procedures in the health care industry, according to the release, such as managing medical inventory, patient hygiene and facility bed availability.

It’s not immediately clear how many employees will make the move from the West Coast to Nashville or if the company plans to make new hires as part of the relocation.

DARVIS’ Nashville headquarters, which will be located at 240 Great Circle Road in Metrocenter, is a 3,500-square-foot space with a warehouse, showroom, AI training facility and offices, according to the release.

DARVIS is the latest in a string of California companies to move their headquarters to Greater Nashville. Last year, publicly traded pharmaceutical company Harrow Health Inc. announced it was moving its base of operations from San Diego to Nashville, following in the steps of former California companies GoCheck Kids, Greenlight Medical, Stache and Mitsubishi Motors North America Inc. In January, on-site, on-demand car maintenance and gas delivery firm Yoshi moved its headquarters from Silicon Valley to Nashville.

“Our goal is to give time back to healthcare workers,” DARVIS co-founder Jan Schlueter said in the release. “The introduction of automated technology within the workspace allows more time for providers to do what they are trained to do — care for patients. The concentration of healthcare systems and the vast experience of healthcare stakeholders in Nashville made the city the perfect place to move our headquarters.”

DARVIS’ decision to move to Tennessee follows its participating in the EC’s Project Healthcare program, a year-long accelerator that gives health care entrepreneurs access to experts and resources within the industry.

“We are able to showcase our amazing city and healthcare community through our Project Healthcare programming,” Jane Allen, CEO of the EC said in the release. “We work hard to connect companies in the program to the connections they need to increase their probability of success, so it’s no shock DARVIS chose to relocate to Nashville, a city with a deep entrepreneurial spirit and the number one healthcare city in America. This move demonstrates how we work to identify companies that fit within our landscape and strengthen our community. We are delighted to welcome DARVIS to Music City and continue to support them as they represent what makes Nashville’s businesses extraordinary.”
