Frist Cressey raises nearly $27 million for fund

Company name: Frist Cressey Co-invest LLC

Amount raised: $26.98 million from 33 investors, according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing made Thursday. The minimum investment accepted from an outside investor was $200,000, according to the filing, with the first investment made Dec. 12. 

What they do: Frist Cressey Ventures is one of the largest venture capital firms in Middle Tennessee, according to Nashville Business Journal research, with $315.4 million of capital under management. The firm was co-founded in 2016 by former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist.

Some of Frist Cressey’s most notable recent Nashville investments include ObjectiveHealth, Thyme Care and Monogram Health.

What the funds will be used for: Frist Cressey could not immediately be reached for comment but the firm focuses on health care and technology investments.
