An augmented reality app for healthy grocery shopping and the developer of an employee compensation software platform are among the companies currently participating in the fall 2022 cohort of the startup accelerator program gBETA Beloit.

The program's director Anthony Swindell announced the five participating companies in a recent post on LinkedIn.

gBETA is a free, seven-week program for startups run by gener8tor, a nationally ranked accelerator and venture capital firm based in Wisconsin. The program has spread to cities across the U.S. and in Wisconsin operates in Madison, Milwaukee, Beloit and, as of this month, Kenosha.

The fall 2022 gBETA Beloit participating companies are:

  • Answered Call, co-founded by Lewis Tucker and Deanne Chance, is developing a social community prayer app for churches and their members.
  • Dinamico, founded by Dan Kopp and David Betz, makes an employee compensation platform designed to help companies attract and retain talent, encourage strong performance and ensure pay equity.
  • FoodFiXR, founded and led by Grace Hameister, is developing an app that would help users make optimally healthy choices at the grocery store.
  • Graceful Management Systems, founded and led by Tommy Stanek, is a provider of construction contractor management software.
  • RaritiesMarket Inc., founded and led by Chad Tjugum, is developing a platform to help users invest in rare coins.

gBETA Beloit, a partnership with Hendricks Commercial Properties and the Irontek co-working space, is hosting a fall showcase on Nov. 17 at Irontek.

The next Wisconsin-based gBETA program will be gBETA Kenosha. Applications are due by Nov. 4 and the program kicks off on Nov. 17. The program manager is Bakari Collins.

gBETA Kenosha was established through a $990,000 grant the city of Kenosha received through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and is slated to eventually be part of the Kenosha Innovation Neighborhood planned for the site of the city's former Chrysler plant.

In addition to geographically focused gBETA programs, gener8tor also runs industry-specific programs. For instance, gBETA 1915 Studios, sponsored by the Atlanta-based paper products manufacturer Georgia-Pacific, is focused on startups that supply innovative sustainability solutions.

gBETA 1915 Studios is open to companies nationwide but operates out of Georgia-Pacific's Neenah Technical Center in Wisconsin. Its third cohort is currently underway with four participating companies: Adept Materials, Celcy, SAVRpak and MiFood Tech, according to an Oct. 27 announcement. There will be a startup showcase event on Dec. 6. Applications for the next 1915 Studios cohort are due before Jan. 1.
