Amid a CEO transition, Brookfield-based employee recruitment outsourcing provider Cielo has acquired Minnesota-based human resources technology consulting firm Peridus Group, according to a Monday announcement.

Cielo, which said it has nearly 4,000 total employees and around 500 in the Milwaukee area, declined to disclose the terms of the deal.

Peridus has been working with Cielo for more than two years to offer Workday, HR strategy, technical, integration and data migration consulting services for Cielo's clients.

“With so many of our clients moving to (the Workday applicant tracking system) or looking for integrations in their talent acquisition tech stack, the experience Peridus Group brings ... will be invaluable in advancing our clients’ goals, fueling our continued growth,” Cielo CEO Marissa Geist said in a statement.

Geist, who previously was Cielo's chief operating officer, is newly stepping into the CEO role, succeeding Cielo founder and previous CEO Sue Marks, who is officially stepping down at the end of May.

Cielo handles talent acquisition for companies that want to outsource their recruitment processes. It has 185 clients in more than 100 countries, with clients that have included McKesson, Rogers Behavioral Health and Froedtert Health, according to Cielo's website.

The Peridus deal is among several acquisitions Cielo has made in recent years. In December 2020, it bought San Diego-based Talent Function to boost its consulting capabilities. The Peridus acquisition builds on that, as top Peridus executives will join Cielo's technology consulting division led by Talent Function founder and former CEO Elaine Orler.

Peridus founder and CEO Caleb Fullhart will join Cielo as senior vice president of consulting. The rest of the Peridus team will also join Cielo and work remotely along with Cielo's other employees, Cielo brand and content manager Susie Schuppel-Paul said via email. She declined to disclose Peridus' total employee count.

Cielo has its headquarters across from Brookfield Square mall, according to its website, but the company's entire workforce has been working remotely since the pandemic began and will continue to work remotely for the foreseeable future, Schuppel-Paul said.
