NerdsToGo Inc., a Texas-based computer and technology repair franchise, aims to add eight locations in Milwaukee, according to a Thursday announcement.
The company, which is owned by the same parent firm as the sign and graphic center franchise Fastsigns, is seeking franchisees to set up the stores in the Milwaukee area.
NerdsToGo provides in-home, in-office or in-store repair for computers, tablets and smartphones. It can also act as the information technology (IT) department for small businesses, providing cybersecurity solutions, cloud services, remote support and more, the company said.
The business was founded in 2003 and is now owned by Propelled Brands, which also owns Fastsigns and other franchise-based businesses.
"With so many businesses offering remote work for their employees, the services NerdsToGo provides are more valuable now than ever before," Propelled Brands chief support and development officer Mark Jameson said in a statement.
NerdsToGo doesn't currently have any space leased in Milwaukee, Jameson said.
The initial investment for a NerdsToGo franchise is $146,200 to $217,050, including a $49,750 franchise fee. Ideal candidates have a net worth of $300,000, of which $80,000 is liquid, the company said.
NerdstoGo currently has 33 locations in 18 states. There are no locations in the Midwest.
