Milwaukee-area software entrepreneur Deepak Babu believes distributing surveillance systems and integrating them to enable automation is the next phase of growth for his company, Sabhya Technologies.

The Brookfield-based firm recently signed an agreement to be the U.S. distributor for Norden Communication, a United Kingdom-based company that makes surveillance, security and cabling solutions. The company also has distributors in western Europe and Vietnam, according to its website.

Founded in 2018, Sabhya Technologies currently offers software services including cloud migration, software application management and modernization, and internet of things (IoT) solutions. It's focused on small manufacturers and currently has several established customers based primarily in Wisconsin, Babu said.

With the partnership, Sabhya Technologies will distribute Norden products — including its Eyenor brand of surveillance systems — and help customers integrate the software with existing systems. This could enable automation for things like factory floor access control, inventory processing and safety compliance, Babu said.

"The value is when you combine distribution and software capabilities together," Babu said.

Sabhya will still focus on small manufacturers but will also distribute Norden products to customers across industries. The partnership agreement was finalized around the end of November and Sabhya Technologies is now starting the sales process.

Once sales movement begins — likely in the next few months — Sabhya Technologies will seek local warehouse space, Babu said.

"This will be the next evolution," Babu said. “This is going to be a significant expansion.”
