One of Waukesha County's top residential real estate agents, Jeremy "JJ" Hausmann, has joined Compass Inc., a technology-driven brokerage based in New York City, according to a recent announcement.

With Hausmann on board, Compass (NYSE: COMP) has expanded its footprint into Lake Country. It established its Wisconsin presence this summer with 16 agents and has grown to 44 agents in the Milwaukee area, including Collin Yelich, brother of Milwaukee Brewers star outfielder Christian Yelich.

"Not only does this strengthen our presence in Wisconsin, but it also helps us serve our Compass agents in the Chicagoland area who have clients that are looking for lake homes in Wisconsin," Compass Milwaukee managing broker Bernie Weiss-Rhodes said in a statement.

Hausmann previously operated his own brokerage called Lake Country Listings. He's the No.1 producing agent in Waukesha County and No. 2 in the whole Wisconsin MLS, according to Compass.

In a statement, Hausmann said he has been following Compass's growth for years.

"What excites me most about the company is the strong investment it has made in technology that makes people better rather than replace them," Hausmann said.

Founded in 2012, Compass provides a custom, cloud-based platform for agents with functions including customer relationship management, marketing, client services and brokerage services.

"Real estate is only getting more competitive, as we’ve seen over this past year," Hausmann said. "The expanded digital reach through Compass technology now gives us more ways to better connect sellers and buyers, improving the overall experience."
