Gener8tor is seeking applications for its gBeta Medtech Accelerator which is focused on serving Black founders in the health care industry.
The free, seven-week virtual program is accepting companies with Black founders or CEOS or at least 20% equity ownership is held by one or more people who identify as Black.
The gBeta Medtech accelerator works with startups focused on health care, including health care devices, software, and services.
The five companies will receive a $10,000 grant and intensive, individualized coaching.
“Since the original gBETA Medtech cohort, this program has helped Boston Scientific support early-stage ventures in new ways,” said Randy Schiestl, vice president, search & development, at Boston Scientific, the initial funder of the program. “To build on these efforts while advancing our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion exemplifies the spirit of meaningful collaboration that makes truly transformational innovation possible.”
More than 150 startups applied to join the gBeta Medtech spring 2021 cohort, making it one of the most competitive gBeta programs that Milwaukee-based Gener8tor offers.
Applications are open through Aug. 31, with the virtual program slated to run from Oct. 18 to Dec. 10.
