Talon Healthy IT Services, an information technology (IT) managed service company with a Waukesha service center, was acquired by HCTec, a health care IT firm based in Brentwood, Tennessee, according to a Monday announcement.

HCTec declined to disclose the financial details of the deal.

Talon employs 90 people, including around 35 employees out of its Waukesha office. There won't be layoffs as a result of the acquisition and the Waukesha service center will continue to operate as normal, HCTec CEO Bill Grana said.

HCTec plans to grow in both Waukesha and Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where Talon is based, Grana said, although he did not have an estimate on when future expansion might occur.

Talon opened its Waukesha office in 2017. It's located at W223 N720 Saratoga Drive. Talon executive vice president Jeff Kennedy leads the team there. Grana said HCTec doesn't expect roles and responsibilities to be affected as a result of the acquisition.

The acquisition deal will enable HCTec to use Talon's IT helpdesk services to better serve its health care provider customers with a focus on patient-facing support.

“New technology will always require support, training, and optimization for success," Grana said in a statement. "HCTec has been a pioneer in this industry, and adding Talon’s expertise furthers our goal of shaping the future of healthcare IT.”

HCTec has around 500 employees across the U.S.
