Brookfield-based financial technology Fiserv Inc. is No. 205 on the Fortune 500 list for 2021, up more than 100 positions compared with last year's list.

The Fortune 500 ranking is based on total fiscal year revenue, and Fiserv's 2020 revenue rose to $14.9 billion, an increase of more than 45% compared with last year.

Among this year's Fortune 500 companies, Fiserv (Nasdaq: FISV) ranked 99 in terms of market value as of March 31, according to Fortune. Its market value was $79.7 billion, up from $64.5 billion last year.

As in 2020, Wisconsin had eight companies on the Fortune 500 list this year. See all of Wisconsin's Fortune 500 companies in the slideshow below.

Northwestern Mutual, American Family Insurance Group, WEC Energy Group and Rockwell Automation also rose in rank, but Fiserv was the only Wisconsin-based company that jumped more than 30 spots.

"The past year has presented a unique set of challenges that transformed the world in a short space of time,” Fiserv president and CEO Frank Bisignano said in a statement earlier this month. “I am proud of how our associates adapted to a new way of working to support our clients in keeping their operations running.”

Fiserv was also recently named to the 2021 Civic 50 list, which recognizes large companies that have strong corporate citizenship. The annual list was created by Points of Light, a global organization that supports volunteerism among nonprofits, corporations and individuals.

The Civic 50 list considers corporations with U.S. revenue of at least $1 billion. Winners are chosen based on four components of their corporate citizenship and social impact programs: resource investment, integration across business functions, institutionalization through policies and systems, and impact measurement.
