To build on its investment in Salesforce services, New York-based tech giant IBM has acquired Milwaukee-based technology company 7Summits, which builds cloud-computing solutions within Salesforce.

Financial terms were not disclosed. In 2019, IBM (NYSE: IBM) reported $77.1 billion in revenue.

"Joining the IBM family, which shares our values-driven culture, allows 7Summits to position our offerings at a global scale," said Paul Stillmank, CEO of 7Summits, in a statement. "Together, we'll deliver more business value for our collective clients through AI-powered solutions that deliver intelligent experiences at speed, while delighting engaged audiences."

7Summits, which was founded in 2009 and has been a Milwaukee Business Journal Fastest Growing Firms and Best Places to Work winner over the years, was one of just nine Salesforce National System Integrators in 2020.

As of late 2020, the company had just under 200 employees, with roughly 60 of them in the Milwaukee area. Since 2017, the company has experienced 117.87% growth.

"7Summits is part of a broader IBM investment strategy in services and ecosystem partnerships to enable our clients' digital transformations through hybrid cloud and AI," said Mark Foster, senior vice president at IBM Services, in a statement. "Salesforce plays a critical role in transforming customer, employee and partner lifecycle processes into intelligent workflows that deliver accelerated business outcomes."

Some of 7Summits clients include Harvard University and Mitsubishi Electric. In 2014, the company received an undisclosed, but "significant," investment from San Francisco-based private equity firm Sverica International.

"Our partner ecosystem is a driving force of our growth, and the addition of 7Summits to IBM's fast-growing Salesforce business will provide even more value for our customers' digital transformations," said Tyler Prince, executive vice president of worldwide alliances and channels at Salesforce, in a statement.

"The combination of both companies' Salesforce consulting and design capabilities will help businesses in any industry keep pace with rapidly changing customer expectations, helping them thrive in an increasingly digital world."
