Gener8tor, the Wisconsin-based startup accelerator, events company and venture fund, is adding a new conference to its OnRamp Conference series that will focus on the entertainment industry.

The first OnRamp Entertainment Conference will take place Nov. 12 and highlight innovators in music, radio, film, the arts and gaming. It will also include discussions on disruptive technologies impacting the industry. The event will be in a virtual setting due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Participating companies include StubHub, Spotify, Summerfest producer Milwaukee World Festival and Warner Music Group.

More than 300 startup companies are expected to apply for one-on-one pitch meetings with entertainment corporations and venture funds, according to an announcement. The conference will also have a showcase event featuring performances from Detroit-based artists who participated in the Motown Musician Accelerator, as well as pitches from the five nationally sourced startups who participated in the 2020 gBeta Musictech program.

In 2018, gener8tor announced it had partnered with Capitol Music Group, a division of Universal Music Group, to launch gBeta Musictech, a music technology accelerator that will offer startups dabbling in the business of recording, production, distribution, marketing and streaming, among other things, with mentorship and exclusive access to music industry resources.

The Motown Musician Accelerator is a 12-week program that provides four selected Detroit artists with coaching, access to industry professionals and $20,000.
