Modern Hire, a hiring technology company that splits its headquarters between Delafield in Waukesha County and Cleveland, has named Karin Borchert as its new CEO.

Borchert was most recently CEO of Chicago-based software company 1WorldSync. While there, she led the company's sale to Battery Ventures in 2019. Previously, she served as executive vice president of client services for Sterling Talent Solutions in New York, where she led global account management, professionals services and customer service operations.

Borchert also held global executive roles overseeing different organizations within Dow Jones.

"Karin's extensive data strategy background and experience in growing international SaaS (Software as a Service) technology organizations make her the perfect fit to lead Modern Hire as it focuses relentlessly on merging trusted science and proven technology to improve hiring outcomes," said John Kish, Modern Hire's chairman of the board. "We're thrilled to have Karin join the Modern Hire team, and know she will be influential in overseeing the continued growth and success of the company."

Modern Hire is the rebranded name of a 2019 merger between Shaker International, a Cleveland firm that provides predictive talent intelligence and assessment technology, and Montage, the Delafield firm that uses AI-based video, text and voice technology to hire candidates for employers. The merged business was projected to have 35% year-over-year revenue growth and grow to 200 employees by the end of 2019.

Borchert's appointment is effective immediately, according to a Tuesday announcement from the company. The move comes a month after Modern Hire announced it was expanding its global footprint with the acquisition of Sonru, an Ireland-based provider of automated video interviewing technology.

"I'm excited and honored to join Modern Hire at such a critical time in its company journey," Borchert said in a statement. "Modern Hire is growing exponentially and transforming the hiring process with proven science and trusted technology. I'm looking forward to working with the experienced leadership team to continue accelerating Modern Hire's growth and innovation to reimagine the future of hiring."
