A new investor group is looking to support high-growth startups in Green Bay and across the state of Wisconsin.
Tundra Angels, a new angel investor group, is an offering of the Startup Hub, the entrepreneurial development arm of the Greater Green Bay Chamber. The industry agnostic angel network will make investments between $50,000 and $100,000.
Some of the investors committed to the network include Gregg Matteck, an account executive at Google and owner of Copper State Brewery, and Al Zeise, the founder of De Pere-based information technology company ZyQuest and HuTerra, a fundraising platform.
“Tundra Angels, at its core, is about delivering hope to entrepreneurs through capital, strategic connections and customers,” said Matthew Kee, the manager of Tundra Angels and a startup development manager with the Greater Green Bay Chamber. “These three components are critical to startup progress, especially in the early stages.”
The group will focus on investing in startups in Wisconsin, primarily in Green Bay and northeast Wisconsin, Kee said. The group will also meet quarterly to hear startups pitch their business models.
“This new opportunity for early-stage startups in the area recognizes that innovative companies, entrepreneurs, creative workers and technology are critical elements of thriving regional economies, Greater Green Bay’s included,” said Laurie Radke, president and CEO of the Greater Green Bay Chamber. “The establishment of the angel investor group opens the door to providing much-needed capital to get an entrepreneur’s great idea off the ground or to help an early-stage company grow to the next level.”
