Wisconsin-based startup accelerator gener8tor has launched a new residency program that aims to see what innovations 10 individuals can muster, from scratch, over a five-week period.
The virtual program is open to any person, but gener8tor is emphasizing applications from recent college graduates. Those selected for the gener8tor 5th Year program will each receive a $3,000 stipend.
“Given the unprecedented uncertainty and change these graduates have entered into, we want to give them an opportunity to explore entrepreneurship as a career path and use their talents to help build the world they want to live in for the rest of their lives,” said Ben Stanley, the managing director of gener8tor Milwaukee, in a statement. “We are looking for ambitious graduates with a track record of applied skills who are hungry for change and want to leave their mark on the world.”
At the conclusion of the residency, which will run July 27-Aug. 28, gener8tor may choose to accept participants into its Accelerator Studio program starting in September, where gener8tor would invest $100,000 to support the continued work on the created company or product over a 16-week period.
For the residency program, each week, participants will pitch their ideas to gener8tor staff, who will then say whether they are on the right track with their idea, or advise them to start over.
The application deadline for gener8tor 5th Year is July 21.
