Startup accelerator gener8tor revealed on Thursday the five startups accepted into its latest gBETA Northeast Wisconsin program, which officially kicked off March 12.

The free, seven-week accelerator gives companies access to mentors, customers, corporate partners and investors. Unlike some of gener8tor’s other programs, the organization doesn’t provide any equity to participating companies.

Because of the COVID-19 crisis, and local and national government guidelines asking people to shelter in place, this spring’s gBETA program is entirely virtual.

“During a national crisis like the one we are currently experiencing, small early-stage businesses need our help now more than ever,” said Adrienne Palm, gBETA Northeast Wisconsin’s director, in a statement. “Trying to launch or sustain a company in a time like this requires ingenuity, creativity and extreme perseverance. I have seen the entrepreneurs I’m working with readily employ these skills masterfully over the past few weeks, and it has been my privilege to continue to forge ahead with the program virtually, despite the unique challenges that a situation like this presents.”
