Two years ago, Milwaukee entrepreneur Reginald Reed began planning a second company built around a cloud-based tool he developed that produces metrics on a person's job skill level.

Now, Reed is moving forward with bringing that company to market. Reed, who in 2016 started Mindful Staffing Solutions, a job training and placement company, is among a group of entrepreneurs selected for the 2020 spring cohort of gBETA Milwaukee, gener8tor’s free seven-week accelerator designed for early-stage companies from the Milwaukee area.

Reed’s new company, Mindful Measures, is a software development company that will build Real Time Resume. Reed created the Real Time Resume around the same time he started Mindful Staffing, and has used the technology to submit resumes to manufacturing and construction employers for job seekers.

Reed's initial plan was to market the software to businesses for internal use to measure the efficiency of employees. He said it would later be marketed to human resource departments within companies for hiring purposes.

The idea behind Real Time Resume is to offer businesses a more comprehensive look at the skills a worker might possess, rather than depending on employment history.

The other four startups selected for the cohort include:

  • Midwest Aerial Productions, a startup founded by Cody Retlich, makes drone pilot cinematography and 3D mapping services
  • Octane Coffee, founded by Adrian Deasy, is a fully automated coffee and beverage drive-thru business that includes an app and kiosk system
  • Washbnb, co-founded and led by CEO Daniel Cruz, provides linen and laundry services for short-term rental owners and property managers
  • Well-Loved, founded by CEO Gianina Gabriel, makes handmade leather goods
