As the coronavirus crisis worsens in Wisconsin and throughout the United States, American Family Insurance and startup accelerator gener8tor are working to help small businesses navigate these uncertain times.
The American Family Insurance Institute for Corporate and Social Impact and gener8tor announced they are running emergency one-week virtual programs for startups and other small businesses impacted by COVID-19. The program is free and is an extension of the gBETA programs the two organizations currently offer.
The one-week virtual accelerators will run from March 30 through April 3. The focus of the program will be understanding what resources are available to companies during the outbreak, and how businesses can navigate this ongoing crisis. The deadline to register is Mach 25, and all Wisconsin-based businesses that register for the program will be included, according to a news release.
The programing will consist of daily lunchtime webinars that cover topics such as determining eligibility and applying for SBA programs; civic, philanthropic and state emergency relief resources; navigating changes required by new laws; federal emergency relief programs and local support; and mental health and wellness resources.
In addition to the daily webinars, one-on-one assistance will be available to companies that want to virtually meet with gener8tor team members in an effort to address specific company issues.
“We have seen firsthand the impact that entrepreneurs have on a community and we hope to call on our network of mentors, investors, and partners to support these new Emergency Response Programs,” Joe Kirgues, co-founder of gener8tor, said in a statement.
The program’s full schedule will be made available on March 26.
