goPuff, a Philadelphia-based startup that specializes in on-demand convenience deliveries, launched its service in Milwaukee on Monday.
Customers can order a myriad of convenience-store-like items from goPuff, either online or through their mobile app for a flat $1.95 delivery charge. Items range from snacks and candy, to phone chargers and laundry detergent.
goPuff makes deliveries in Milwaukee from Noon to 4:30 a.m. every day to local zip codes, such as 53204, 53203, 53233, 53205, 53211, 53212 and 53202.
The startup says its service is simpler, cheaper and faster than other delivery companies because it brings consumers items directly from its own warehouse as opposed to stopping at retailers to purchase items first. The startup stocks more than 2,500 products in local facilities in each city that it operates in.
goPuff, founded in 2013 by Rafael Ilishayev and Yakir Gola, also makes deliveries to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where it launched in 2017. The startup now operates in more than 90 U.S. locations. Besides parts of Wisconsin, goPuff can be found in Chicago, Denver and Washington, D.C.
“goPuff’s mission is to create more time in the day for our customer by consistently redefining the very meaning of convenience to provide a high-quality experience at an exceptional value,” Ilishayev said in a statement. “After launching to great reception at the University of Wisconsin, we were eager to bring goPuff to Milwaukee, the most populous city in the state, to deliver the moments that matter most to this vibrant community.”
To date, goPuff has raised about $8.3 million in funding, according to Crunchbase.
