Uber Eats is coming to Titletown.
The popular food delivery app announced that it's bringing its service to the downtown Green Bay and Appleton areas starting May 10. It will also be available in surrounding neighborhoods like DePere, Kaukauna and Menasha.
Uber Eats will start delivering from dozens of local restaurants, including Hinterland Brewery, the Dough Shoppe, Cozzy Corner and Gingerootz Asian Grille, the company announced.
“The Uber Eats app allows users to order food delivery whenever they get a craving, with menus available from dozens of restaurant locations in Green Bay and Appleton,” Clay Carroll, general manager for Uber Eats Wisconsin, said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to be launching soon in Green Bay to connect local residents and visitors with new, tasty options, add new earning opportunities for driver-partners and help local restaurant owners expand the reach of their business.”
Users can download the Uber Eats app, log onto their Uber account, and request delivery similar to hailing a ride. You can track your order as it's being delivered, and payment takes place through the app.
Uber Eats launched in Milwaukee in early 2017, and began serving Madison later that year. In its first year in Wisconsin, Uber Eats has has delivered close to 8,000 orders of cheese curds.
Uber's expansion into Green Bay comes as its national competitors have little to no presence in the area. Grubhub has a limited number of delivery options available in Green Bay, and Door Dash's only Wisconsin city is Milwaukee.
Madison-based startup EatStreet, a food delivery company that's become one of the state's most recognizable startups, launched in 2010 and covers multiple Wisconsin markets, including Appleton, Green Bay, Madison, Milwaukee, Oshkosh and Whitewater.
