As the remote workforce continues to grow and thrive, shared workspaces are in increasing demand by startups and entrepreneurs in cities across the country. Over the past year, coworking spaces have become more innovative, inviting, accessible, and frequently feature impeccable designs and enticing amenities.

As the digitally nomadic lifestyle spreads, Milwaukee has worked to stay on trend by adding new coworking options across the city.

Below, you will find a brief overview of the coworking spaces in the Milwaukee area, including locations, hours, pricing and the top benefits and amenities of each space.

Hudson Business Lounge
  • Location: 310 E Buffalo St, Milwaukee, WI 53202.
  • Hours: Monday-Friday: 6:30 a.m.-8 p.m. (frequently stays open late if members are still working) & Saturdays: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Pricing: Day Pass ($29), Premium day pass including private office ($59), per visit monthly fees begin at $79/month for 4 monthly visits. Base/Unlimited Monthly visit rate starts at $269/month.
  • Amenities: Access to fiber internet + secured member Wi-Fi, printing + copy services, complimentary coffee & water, access to gallery open-concept workstations, invitation to monthly networking and social events, member reduced rates on conference rooms and private offices, monthly allowance to Hudson Café (starting at $10). Hudson Café features a full menu of breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack items including smoothies and specialty drinks and a full bar with all day Happy Hour specials.

  • Location: 333 N Plankinton, 2nd Floor, Milwaukee, WI 53203.
  • Hours: 24/7 access.
  • Pricing: $30 day pass for 9 a.m.-5 p.m. desk access & use of amenities, $250/month for a dedicated desk. Private furnished offices starting at $1,000/month.
  • Amenities: common coworking area, Wi-Fi, printing/scanning services, lockers, whiteboards/projectors, kitchenette, access to career-oriented networking and social events, unlimited use of private meeting rooms & huddle rooms, access to conference rooms.
  • Sounding off: “We are building a community in which motivated individuals find success through working together, collaborating, and focusing. We are fostering the serendipitous collisions that every entrepreneur hopes to encounter. We aren't just a physical space. We're a strong community of driven individuals that thrive on one another's passion.”
5Wise Workshop
  • Location: 3524 West National Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53215.
  • Hours: 24/7 access when not booked for events.
  • Pricing: $50/month (Membership is limited to 30 people)
  • Amenities:  High-speed Internet, basic office supplies and printing, chromebook computers are available for use, free coffee & tea. Members have full access to co-working space and ability to rent the meeting room free of charge (25 person capacity).
  • Sounding off: “Individuals achieve greater success when they have access to professional and well-connected networks. People flourish in environments that encourage expansive thinking, constructive debate, and self-discipline while allowing them to “fail forward fast” without burdensome commitments. Emphasis is placed on supporting entrepreneurs and artists who are starting businesses and the leaders of existing small businesses.”
MalamaDoe
  • Location:  4465 N. Oakland Ave., Suite 201, Shorewood, WI.
  • Hours: 24/7 keyed access.
  • Pricing: $150/month for non-designated pod workspace, $180/month for reserved space.
  • Amenities: High speed Wi-Fi and hot spots, Keurig coffee maker, microwave, and fridge, TV Internet streaming, projector, dry erase boards, and green screen wall are all accessible to members. Weekly member meetings, guest speakers, conference rooms for reserve, Shorewood BID (Business Improvement District) membership.
  • Sounding off: “MalamaDoe is a coworking community for women. Everything we do revolves around making this world a better place by helping women use their talents to be the best they can be. We believe women flourish, build community, and help society when they are empowered by role models and one another.”
The Hive
  • Location: 720 N Milwaukee St. Milwaukee, WI 53202.
  • Hours: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. for day pass and non-dedicated “hot desk” monthly members. 24/7 access for private desk and office, monthly members.
  • Pricing: $10 day pass, $100/month for open seating, $200/month for permanent desk space, private office plans start at $550/month.
  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, beer and coffee, office supplies, printing, exclusive social events, free use of conference room, lockers, mailing address, library of business books.
  • Sounding off: “The Hive is a shared coworking office space that drives to inspire, spark, and grow entrepreneurialism.  It is a space designed for startups, entrepreneurs, creatives, artists and small business owners to have access to an affordable and efficient office space. The Hive was created to give innovative minds a fun place for their business to grow and thrive.” 
Genius@Work
  • Location: 611 N. Broadway St., Suite 100 Milwaukee, WI 53202.
  • Hours: 6 a.m.-11 p.m.
  • Pricing: $20 day pass, $60/weekly pass, monthly passes starting at $175, $1,200/year.
  • Amenities:  WIFI, copier/printer/fax machine, flat screen TVs, light snacks, coffee, tea and water, secured key access, catering options, access to private workspaces and conference room (10 person capacity) in addition to shared workspace.
  • Sounding off: “Genius@Work’s goal is to provide a membership-based working space that is a flexible and functional place for inspired individuals, as well as unique groups that can utilize the space for socializing, working and meeting. We have designed this urban coworking space as a solution to the changing working environment and as an amenity to the Hilton Garden Inn hotel guests and to the local community.
Workspace at Bishop Woods
  • Location: 250 N Sunnyslope Rd; Suite 200, Brookfield, WI 53005.
  • Hours: 24/7 keyed access.
  • Pricing: $150 for open desks, $275 dedicated desks, $650 & up for private offices.
  • Amenities: High-speed fibre wifi, free access to fully functional conference rooms, printing and scanning, parking, fresh coffee, mailing address.

Ironwood Office
  • Location: 5225 N. Ironwood Road, Glendale, WI, 53217.
  • Pricing: Use of coworking space starting at $200/month, private office with one desk starting at $600/month up to $1,500/month for 4+ desks in private office space.
  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, fully furnished offices with desks, ergonomic chairs, shared printers and copiers, café with complimentary water, soda, coffee and snacks, access to conference rooms.
  • Sounding off: “You’re with people like you. Different businesses – but all plugged in, dedicated, energized. Feel like collaborating? Collaborate. There’s community here.”

Jake's Cafe
  • Location: 529 Ontario Ave, Sheboygan, WI 53081
  • Pricing: $30/day, $100/week and $200/month. Includes coffee and internet. Private office space is available from $250 to $1200/month.
  • Amenities: Complimentary coffee, Private offices and co-workspace, Hi-speed internet with select ethernet and campus wide WiFi, A central color copier and printer, Scanning, FAX, and mail services, Secretarial services beginning at $15.00 per hour and more.
  • Sounding off: “Jake’s Café offers 24/7 workspace for small businesses, entrepreneurs, freelancers and corporate get-a-wayers  –  anyone looking for innovative ways to accelerate their growth. Cowork space is available for $30 per day including internet and coffee. Monthly leases are available too for coworkers and private office space."
