The competitive video gaming industry is estimated to have surpassed $1 billion in revenue in 2020, and is projected to grow to nearly $2 billion by 2023.

Brandon Tschacher, a 2018 Milwaukee Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree and the director of marketing at Thrivent, founded the MKEsports Alliance to be a network of video gaming enthusiasts and professionals to help grow that industry in Milwaukee.

In this week's podcast, Tschacher talks about founding the alliance, Milwaukee’s gaming and esports industry and why it’s an opportunity the region needs to be involved in.

Later, we talk with Paul Szeflinski, president of IAS Inc. in New Berlin, a robotics and automation technology company, about the demand the company is receiving for its robotics during the pandemic.

IAS designs custom robotics and automation systems for several industries, with most of its demand coming from food and beverage manufacturers, consumer product makers, automotive suppliers, general manufacturers and companies within the health care industry.
