A local startup focused on “virtual workforce” solutions for restaurants is placing its headquarters in Memphis.

Bite Ninja will move into an 11,000-square-foot office space at 7251 Appling Farms Parkway. The company recently sat down with MBJ to discuss its process in getting off the ground

“Like many young businesses, we poured our energy and resources into the creation of our technology and partner expansion. Now that we’re almost two years into our growth with even more to come, it was time to establish a formal headquarters to unify our team and create a hub for our operations,” Orin Wilson, cofounder of Bite Ninja, said in a prepared statement. “We’re committed to growing in Memphis.”

Jones Aur Commercial Real Estate, a new Memphis-based firm founded by brokers Jonathan Aur and Dustin Jones, worked with Bite Ninja to secure the lease. The 25,000-square-foot building is owned by Nashville-based Novatech.

“Memphis is quickly becoming a go-to locale for new companies and industries to set up shop. Our core focus on supporting the economic growth of Memphis led us to connect with Bite Ninja and craft this deal. We were thrilled to have represented both Bite Ninja and Novatech in this transaction,” Jonathan Aur, cofounder of Jones Aur Commercial Real Estate said in the release.

The company was founded in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic and has yet to have an office space. Now, the company will move into a space in the city it was founded.

The company, which is backed by Silicon Valley-based startup accelerator Y Combinator, anticipates rapid growth and plans to utilize its new headquarters as a logistical hub.

Bite Ninja specializes in finding remote workers for the restaurant industry. Workers act as 1099 contractors and primarily operate in the quick food sector of the industry.
