A serial entrepreneur will launch a welfare-focused social services app on Saturday.
Like her previous endeavors, the Allyance app was created after Vauntech Solutions founder and CEO VaShaun Mosby saw a need for it in the community, per a press release.
Allyance works by offering technology as a way to aid with the distribution of welfare services across the country, as well as providing resources for welfare recipients, according the Vauntech site.
Mosby first drafted what would become Allyance approximately 20 years ago, using a three-ring binder and a vision board.
“This idea to use technology to connect people with resources was inspired by my experiences in the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program (Section 8) in Lexington, Kentucky,” Mosby said in the release. “I wish something like this was available to me then.”
The launch will be a part of an event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at AMPED Louisville at 1219 W. Jefferson St. — the site where Mosby was part of the first Russell Technology Business Incubator (RTBI) in 2021.
A native of Lexington, Mosby decided to leave 20 years in the corporate world to become a full-time entrepreneur in 2015. She later relocated to Louisville in 2020.
Mosby also started a publishing house and a staffing service specializing in helping people with criminal records find employment.
