Kentucky Commercialization Ventures (KCV) has named eight fellows to its fall 2022 Innovation Fellowship cohort.

The six-week program is designed to equip the next generation of ecosystem builders with the practical skills necessary to lead the translation of Kentucky’s most innovative solutions to the real-world market. The fellows are receiving proven frameworks, resources and networking opportunities to create a hands-on, customized and integrated educational experience focused on commercialization.

The latest cohort was selected from a competitive pool of applicants, according to a news release.

The fall 2022 fellows are:

  • Christopher Brewer, Northern Kentucky University
  • Hannah Barrett, Morehead State University
  • Christopher W. Lennon, Murray State University
  • My Ha Doan, Northern Kentucky University
  • Mary Sherrard, Morehead State University
  • Sarah Lager, Morehead State University
  • Nadege Nnamani, Northern Kentucky University
  • Samskriti Gajurel, Northern Kentucky University

As I previously reported, the Innovation Fellowship program was piloted last spring by current KCV Executive Director Kayla Meisner.

"There was no place for people to go if they didn't have an idea or if they didn't have any baseline skills in entrepreneurship," she told me in a 2021 interview. "That was my first tell that we needed something... our regional schools had no opportunities in this space, especially for students."

The program is open to undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty and staff at the following institutions: Eastern Kentucky University, KCTCS, Kentucky State University, Morehead State University, Murray State University, Northern Kentucky University and Western Kentucky University.
