Three Kentucky entrepreneurs have been named as Ernst & Young LLP (EY) Entrepreneur Of The Year 2022 East Central Finalists.

The finalists were selected by a panel of independent judges and evaluated based on their demonstration of long-term value through entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, growth and impact, among other core contributions and attributes, according to a news release. The East Central region includes entrepreneurs from Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Northeast and South-Central Ohio and Kentucky.

Here are the finalists from Kentucky:

  • Scott Arias, ACE Consulting Company LLC, Nicholasville, Kentucky — Established in 2008, ACE Consulting Company is a service-disabled veteran owned company that specializes in Division 1 construction consulting.
  • Tyler Jury, Clayton & Crume, Louisville, Kentucky — Clayton & Crume, owned by Jury and Clay Simpson, is a leather goods shop at 216 S. Shelby St. in Louisville. Jury is also a dentist, practicing in East Louisville and Oldham County areas for years.
  • Nate Morris, Rubicon, Lexington, Kentucky — Rubicon provides smart waste and recycling solutions to businesses and governments worldwide, including big clients such as Apple, Walmart, Starbucks, Chipotle and FedEx. The company recently relocated its headquarters to Lexington, and it plans to go public in the second quarter of this year.

“The 2022 Entrepreneur Of The Year finalists have shown us that ambition, courage, ingenuity and empathy are key to driving change,” said Mike Denove, East Central Program Director, in the release. “They have a mindset that drives them to strive for more and an unwavering commitment to their companies, customers and communities.”

Regional award winners will be announced on June 16. The winners will then be considered by the National judges for the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Awards, which will be presented in November at the annual Strategic Growth Forum. The Entrepreneur Of The Year National Overall Award winner will then move on to compete for the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year Award in June 2023.
