A Louisville-based startup is getting $150,000 in nonidilutive funding from Google For Startups' Black Founders Fund.

In addition to the capital to help grow the business, Limitless Minds also will receive sales and fundraising training, technical support from Google mentors, up to $100,000 in Google Cloud credits, mental health coaching from a team of Black therapists and access to the Black Founders Fund network.

The company is in the process of developing an app, geared toward sales teams, that is steeped in analytics to help client companies increase sales while lowering the amount of turnover, KY Inno reported last month.

Demetrius (DJ) Eidson, co-founder and president of Limitless Minds, said his company applied for the Google for Startups Founders Fund because he and his team believe it offers an "exceptional opportunity to learn from and walk alongside the best technology company in the world."

"Hearing about the program from our [development] team in early 2023, we saw it as a blessing to further develop alongside the Google for Startups community, leveraging our existing use of many Google products. Through this program, we aim to gain insights from both the successes and failures of other founders and advisers which we feel will fuel our team's growth," he said in a statement. "Additionally, networking with diverse founders presents a great opportunity for collaboration and learning. We are excited to contribute to the community and embark on this transformational journey."

As KY Inno recently reported, Limitless Minds was founded by Eidson, NFL quarterback Russell Wilson, Harry Wilson IV and the late Trevor Moawad.

It's grown from a consulting firm to a tech company with its mission of building corporate athletes using insights from the sports world.

Limitless Minds most recently closed a round of $4 million, which included money contributed by Russell and his wife, American recording artist Ciara. It is preparing for a pre-Series A round in 2024.

As of a recent date, the company had 60 corporate clients (and approximately 10,000 users via those clients), including nine of the 12 largest pharmaceutical companies.

In addition, it had launched 33 trial-run pilots for companies — 23 of which were converted to year-long contracts.

In total, there were 46 recipients of Google for Startups' Black and Latino Founders Funds. Since 2020, the organization has provided $45 million in cash funding to 547 Black and Latino founders, according to a blog post.
