Brief company description: Besti is the only period care subscription that offers personalized comfort delivered in sync with your menstrual cycle. Our monthly boxes come complete with organic feminine hygiene products, spa-grade self care and relaxation products — and tasty snacks to satisfy cravings.
What are some major milestones in the company’s history? In July, we formed a partnership with Workwell Industries, who will handle the assembly of our boxes. Winning the Render Competition in 2023 was a huge milestone for us. Not only did it give us the capital we needed to expand our inventory, it opened the doors to Louisville’s startup ecosystem and we’ve been floored by the support offered within this community.
What’s on the horizon for your company in 2024? We have a lot of work ahead of us in 2024. In Q1, Besti’s brand of organic feminine hygiene products will be available, so we’ll be exploring other channels of distribution in addition to our subscription boxes. We’ll also be zeroing in on marketing. Our number one goal will be getting our name out there.
Why grow your company in/from Kentucky? Kentucky is home. We have the best bourbon, the best tap water (can only speak for Louisville, I suppose), and the best people, hands down. There’s a growing community of founders and entrepreneurs here, and tons of support that is freely accessible. It’s an exciting time to be in the startup space.
Give us one bold prediction in 2024 for startups, technology or venture capital/fundraising. I recently heard someone say 2024 will be the year you wanted 2020 to be. Lately, there’s been a lot of caution stemming from the aftermath of the pandemic and current economic inflation. While it’s sensible to be careful, it’s important to remember that with risk comes reward. My prediction: Those who take strategic risks will reap the benefits.
