How did you get into the career you have today?

It was a perfect storm of sorts. I have had a passion for the relationship aspect of business, but I also think I need to be challenged with new problems every day. My position at Vsimple allows me to do both, forming incredible relationships with our customers, while helping them become more operationally efficient every day. When meeting the team here, it became clear that this was something I wanted to be a part of.

What’s one thing Kentucky can do to improve its tech and/or startup ecosystem?

I think there is always room for startups to better leverage and network with each other. We do this today, but a rising tide raises all boats. Founders and their employees alike should prioritize bouncing ideas and lessons off of each other and provide assistance where possible. There is no substitute for a local partner.

Who has been one of your top mentors? Why?

[Vsimple board member and former COO] Alex Reed. He exemplifies to me not just the work ethic it takes to be successful but how far treating people the right way can take you. I always enjoy the chance to pick his brain and tap into his wealth of experience.

What’s something about you that people might not know?

I am a complete history nerd, from podcasts to documentaries you name it. It makes me a very valuable trivia team member.

What’s one thing you want to accomplish before turning 30?

I would like to be in a place where I am considered a mentor for someone else. Whether it be a direct report or someone I care about, I want to be in a place where I can help someone earlier in their career (and they think I have something worth teaching.)
