What are some major milestones in the company’s history?
Last year, we signed a contract with Uber and JPMorgan Chase Bank to connect Black talent to their product development and user experience (UX) teams.
What is your company working on right now?
Black UX Labs is bringing back happy hour. We’re focused on adding more clients and users in 2023 through our virtual events to connect and converse. Simultaneously, we’re building our matchmaking platform for our clients and users. And lastly, we’re looking to raise capital to invest in our platform development.
What’s on the horizon for your company in 2023?
Black UX Labs is going on tour — virtual and in-person events to spread the word around DEI [diversity, equity and inclusion] in product development, retention of Black tech and the value of inclusive teams and products.
Why grow your company in/from Kentucky?
Kentucky is home. I am boomerang. I was raised in Louisville and now I am raising my son here, too. He deserves to see people of color at all levels of career advancement in his own backyard.
Give us one bold prediction in 2023 for startups, technology or venture capital/fundraising?
There is a need for support of hybrid and remote workers. According to Shirley Knowles, chief inclusion and diversity officer at Progress, “Supporting remote workers is a tool to support the diversity of experience on your team.”
