How did you get into the career you have today?
When I was in high school I started making my own dog collars because my dogs were too large for collars from pet stores. I quickly realized my passion for dogs and creativity were a perfect fit for entrepreneurship.
What’s one thing Kentucky can do to improve its tech and/or startup ecosystem?
I really enjoy meeting other entrepreneurs in the area and learning from their experiences. I would like to see Kentucky form more groups for local entrepreneurs.
Who has been one of your top mentors?
My top mentors have been my entrepreneurship professors Zac Strobl and Jeff Varrone. They have both pushed and inspired me to go outside my comfort zone and take risks.
What’s something about you that people might not know?
I am a first-generation college student and I come from a family of entrepreneurs.
What’s one thing you want to accomplish before turning 30?
I would like to have my own pet supplies and self-dog wash boutique.
What innovative company (other than your own) do you admire and why? Over the past year, I have gotten to know Peachy and Vintage run by Kayla and Caden. They are both NKU graduates who have worked hard to open a storefront as well as maintain an online presence. I admire their ambition and passion for what they do.
