Explain what your company does: To diagnose a concussion, medical providers use a multifaceted assessment that measures an individual’s symptoms, cognition, and balance. Synaptek’s intuitive, mobile-first platform is making this multifaceted concussion assessment easier, more effective, and accessible to improve clinical outcomes.

What are some major milestones in the company’s history?

The most notable milestones have been launching our fully HIPAA compliant application, receiving an NSF Phase I grant and KY matching funds to develop innovative technology, raising a seed round and signing our first few customers.

What is your company working on right now?

We are actively adding more users and growing our customer base to help healthcare professionals have a modern, easy-to-use solution for concussion management. We are also working on evolving our initial product with the feedback we collected from our initial customers.

What’s on the horizon for your company in 2022?

Moving forward, we do not just want to digitize the status quo, but re-imagine concussion assessment and be a leading resource in the concussion field via our proprietary technology, research, and educational resources.

Why grow your company from Kentucky?

The community of founders and innovators in Kentucky make it a great place to build a startup. The community of founders and resources available in Lexington, including the UK Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, Launch Blue, Awesome Inc, and SBIR/STTR grant support have been invaluable as we continue to grow Synaptek.
