Lee’s Summit-based Residential Engineering Services LLC, a firm providing a variety of services to the residential industry since 2007, is now Everstead Engineering & Design.

In response to local growth and the recent launch of a branch in Austin, Texas, the rebranding effort was completed in June. CEO Bradley Huxol will remain in place under Everstead, a name created to reflect the core values of the company, combining the words “ever” and “homestead.”

“In short, we wanted to stand out from the crowd,” Marketing Manager Taylor Ford told the Kansas City Business Journal. “Our new brand allows us to better cut through the noise of other brands who have names that were similar to ours.”

Everstead has grown steadily over the last several years, essentially doubling the size of its team and filling an increasing demand for services, said Ford. It now has 18 local employees.

In a release, Huxol said that the rebranding marks a step forward for the company. Everstead, he says, encompasses company’s mission to the residential industry and the relationships clients have with their home.

“The memories you make in your house will last a lifetime,” Huxol said. “We will continue to do our part to help you be safe, happy and thrive in a home you love.”

After a year spent inside, Ford said that it is no surprise people are focused on preserving and improving their homes. In Kansas City and Austin, the company has seen an increase in new construction in addition to remodels.

“We expect for this trend to continue, especially as the economy recovers,” Ford said. “While high lumber prices threw the industry for a loop, as prices continue to stabilize, we anticipate the drive for more affordable single-family homes to continue.”

Both Kansas City and Austin have continued to be a hub of suburban expansion, creating the perfect time for Everstead to debut in both markets.

“To us, Everstead serves as a reminder of why the work we do is important,” Ford said.

Everstead recently made KCBJ's Fast 50 List of Kansas City's fastest-growing companies of 2021.
