Two Kansas City-area entrepreneurs are being honored as 2024 Enterprising Women of the Year Awards winners.
The global awards program run by Enterprising Women magazine recognizes top female entrepreneurs who stand out as leaders in their community, have fast-growing businesses and support women's entrepreneurship. This year's honorees hailed from as far away as Norway and Tanzania.
The awards are divided into seven categories based on annual sales revenue of the honoree's company. The local winners are:
- Cindy Shelton of Nifty Promotions, Lenexa, for businesses with $1 million in annual revenues and up to $2 million in annual revenues: Founded in 2015, Nifty Promotions is a promotional marketing company that specializes in products such as branded apparel, awards, banners and incentive gifts.
- Kali Buchanan of Kali Buchanan Interior Design, Olathe, for businesses with up to $1 million in annual revenues: Founded in 2016, Kali Buchanan Interior Design is an interior design firm that creates modern commercial and residential interiors. The company has worked on projects such as the $61.6 million apartment project at Third Street and Grand Boulevard led by 3G Development LLC that will add 245 apartments.
