The Jacksonville Venture Competition returns for its second year next week, with a roster of entrepreneurs, innovators and industry leaders set to speak at the annual conference next week.

The 2024 JVC, presented by the Jacksonville Business Journal, will take place March 12-13 at the West Club at EverBank Stadium and host a a live pitch competition, presentations and networking opportunities.

The event will focus on a range of sectors, including how technology plays out in logistics, media, construction, finance and health care.

Enterprise Florida CEO Laura DiBella and JaxChamber President Daniel Davis will be keynote speakers at the event.

Other speakers include Tony Cho, CEO of Future of Cities, which is behind the revival of the Phoenix Arts District near downtown; Joey Sanchez, who was senior director of ecosystems at Houston-based innovation hub The Ion; Dr. Charles Bruce, who is chief innovation officer at Mayo Clinic; and Jason Dean, the Jacksonville Jaguar's production and network systems manager.

The event will also feature two pitch competitions — one between students at local universities and the other between several startup companies. The startup competition could lead to an investment of up to $1.2 million.

More information can be found here, with tickets available here.

The Jacksonville Business Journal will be the presenting sponsor of this year's Jacksonville Venture Competition — a move that presages changes to the entrepreneurship event in coming years.

Following the 2024 event, the JVC will move to become one of the signature events presented by the Business Journal, joining the likes of 40 Under 40, Women of Influence and Fast 50: Jacksonville's Fastest-Growing Companies. The move builds on the JBJ's increased coverage of Jacksonville's entrepreneurial community, including the growth of its First Coast Inno vertical.
